LAST YEAR'S AUTUMN FESTIVAL WAS HELD ON SATURDAY, 26TH OCTOBER, 2019 AT 2pm & 6pm AT THE HODDINGTON ARMS. 2020 WAS CANCELLED DUE TO COVID. WE HOPE TO BE BACK IN 2021.
The Festival comprises an afternoon event with Autumn competitions (see next web page for details), games and local produce stalls to taste and/or buy. It opens at 2pm but entries should be provided between 12.30 & 2pm. Prizegiving is at 4pm and the afternoon closes after this.
New for this year are an afternoon adult Hallowen Fancy Dress competition and craft gin tasting, courtesy of Gorilla Distillery from our very own village. In the evening we have 3 bands to entertain you and you can grab a burger or hot dog from the Newlyn's BBQ from 7.30pm onwards
At 6pm a procession will gather outside the Hoddington Arms for mulled wine and soft drinks and loading the Guy Fawkes on the Tractor and Trailer. At 6.15pm the Church Bells will peel and the procession, with lit Jack O' Lanterns, will be lead off by the tractor and trailer to Hoddington Park for the Bonfire and Fireworks. Afterwards, it's back to the Hodd to grab burgers or hot dogs from the Newlyn's BBQ and be entertained by 3 bands & then a Silent Disco in the Heated Marquee.
There are inevitable queues for drinks at the bar when everyone returns after the firework display so to get your drink promptly by pre ordering and pre paying for it in advance (ideally by the previous day). Drinks will be laid out with unique order numbers for you ready for your return in the same manner used at Theatres for interval time.
This event is in aid of St. Michael's Hospice, Registered Charity No: 1002856, and all proceeds go to them.
Free parking is available in Church Meadow, RG25 2RA, opposite the Church. Please do not park in the roadways of Upton Grey or obstruct peoples drives.
