UPTON GREY AUTUMN FESTIVAL - SATURDAY, 28th October, 2017
Commencing at 2pm and held in a heated marquee in the back garden of the Hoddington Arms, the festival is a celebration of Autumn with a daytime Show featuring Autumn displays and competitions including heaviest pumpkin, best carved pumpkin (Jack O' Lantern), halloween fancy dress, silent disco, ornamental gourds, apple bobbing, conker competitions, best Guy Fawkes, snail racing, pumpkin bowling and much more.
There will also be a variety of taste &/or buy stalls featuring local produce from our fields, farms and kitchens and a fresh BBQ provided by Newlyn's Farm Shop.
In the evening, at 6pm, a lit procession will assemble at the Hoddington Arms for mulled wine and soft drinks, and then follow a trailer containing Guy Fawkes and Jack O'Lanterns down Weston Road to Hoddington Park with a special Autumn peel of bells from the Bell Ringers of St. Mary's Church. The bonfire will be lit and afterwards a professional firework display. Afterwards its back to the Hoddington Arms for fine dining or the Festival Menu, Drinks, Band, Halloween Fancy Dress competition & Silent Disco in the Heated Marquee. To avoid a crush at the bar on your return from the fireworks be sure to pre order your drinks - theatre interval style (preferably at least a day before).
